Pathway to Employment

Overview

Pathway to Employment is a person-centered employment planning and support service that provides assistance for individuals to explore, obtain, maintain or advance in competitive employment or self-employment.

The Pathway to Employment service is available to individuals interested in competitive employment or self-employment including (but not limited to) individuals who receive Day Habilitation, Pre-Vocational and Supported Employment services, as well as students transitioning out of high school.

With the Pathway to Employment service, individuals are provided instruction and training in job readiness skills and a plan for achieving competitive, integrated employment at or above the New York State minimum wage.

Within 12 months of beginning this service, individuals will gain determination of a career objective; a detailed career plan used to guide individual employment supports; and preparation for supported employment services or other identified services.

Able2 provides this service in collaboration with Capabilities Inc., an organization with over 60 years of experience in providing employment supports for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
